I just wanted to share a little random thing about myself (as if I don’t share enough things on this blog already) But I have been getting a couple of messages and questions asking me about the things I’ve done to my hair. Since I came from a super strict all-girls Catholic school, we had to leave our hair a certain way- as is.

When college came I decided to have a little fun with my hair (it was long, reddish brown and straight) so I had a lot to work with. So here we go, the many stages of my hair for the past 4 years.

The Really Really Red Hair (Inspired by that Girl from Paramore)  

First of all, for all the Paramore fans out there I’m sorry I don’t know the lead singer’s name. Feel free to kill me but I’m not a fan. Sorry :( Anyway… I was a freshman and I decided to color my hair red. Not fire engine red, but pretty darn close. And though it isn’t so obvious in the pictures, trust me when I say it was REALLY red.

… Then I got bored and the re growth was starting to show so I colored it a light brown.

The Breakup Domino Cut

Yes. I went through that whole “you break up with someone and you cut your hair” phase. It wasn’t purely cause of my break up thought. I actually had been dying to chop off my hair but my Mom was always against it. I decided to use my break up in freshman year as an excuse to “reinvent” myself and change my look. I super love this haircut, and it’s my favorite one so far. I so see myself getting this cut again in my life.

The reason why I called it the “Domino” cut was because I copied the hairstyle of Keira Knightley in Domino, one of my favorite movies of all time. My stylist did a pretty kick ass job if you ask me.

The Portman Pixie Cut

When my hair started to grow out, I decided to have it chopped again. Only this time, I copied another Hollywood star’s hair- Natalie Portman. I fell in love with her pixie cut do and I decided to try it!

MOHAWK? FAWHAWK? Black HAWK Down

Lame title, I know but I couldn’t think of anything else! Haha :p So when my pixie cut started to grow out, I decided to have the sides trimmed really short and had the top layered and fixed to achieve the “mohawk” effect. Since my Mom would’ve killed me (she already wanted to when I chopped my hair off) I couldn’t have the sides shaved to achieve the REAL type of mohawk, but I was pretty happy with this one. It just needed a lot of product to stay up!

BLONDIE

This is what I got a lot of questions for and the answer is YES, yes I bleached my hair at one point in my life. And I’m so glad I did. When my pixie cut started to grow out more, a new band of girls came out. The Paradiso Girls were so in with their song “Patron, Tequila” and I couldn’t take my eyes off the blonde with the short hair- Aria. I immediately said to myself (and checked my bucketlist) that I just had to bleach my hair. If I didn’t do it in college I probably would have never done it at all. I super loved it!

So that was my take on the whole bleach blonde look. And I must say, in some ways, blondes really do have more fun ;)

Back To Black

Then of course the blonde grew out and the roots were ugly so I decided to color my hair black and grow it out. I was EXTRA white for a couple of months until the black finally faded and set into a nicer dark brown.

So there you have it! A couple of pictures and stories about what I did to my hair. I actually did a lot of things in between too, changing hair colors and trims but the main guys were those I previously mentioned. Right now I’m really happy with how my hair is and I super plan to grow it (for those that even care to know HAHA) and I’m so happy my hair didn’t die on me despite all the dye (hihi see what I did there?) I had done to it. So yay!
